There's been talk recently that the amusement park at Coney Island would close this year. I hope it doesn't because we would lose a part of New York history. In case it does close, I visited this weekend to take a few pictures. I rode the cyclone once a while back, but unfortunately not this time!
(Sorry for no post yesterday, for some reason I couldn't get blogger to cooperate.)

I was never on Coney Island....I think we should go!
To me these fun (...) do really fear. When I try to go us, I go down distorted!
Le cyclone, le bonheur de se promener et d'aller à la fête foraine à Coney Island. Je le trouve superbe, mais j'avoue que j'ai jamais ose monter dedans ;o) et toi ?
The cyclone, happiness to walk and go to the fun fair in Coney Island. I find it superb, but I acknowledge that I have never ose to go up inside ;O) and you?
Ahh, the Cyclone, one of the all-time classic rollercoasters. Would hate to see it shut down, especially since I'd like to ride it.
oh then i should go visit the place too before it's gone for good!!!

Quiet a few of the older seaside amusements parks have closed around here. Their place seems to have been taken by the much larger and more frightening rides in the theme parks. Shame really, beacause they were part of the history of the older holiday locations. Progress I suppose.
When i was a kid I used to be an avid reader of DC Comics. They often published tokens to get cheap tickets for Coney Island. The tokens were usually blended into a corner of Superman's cape. For years I though that Coney Island rested on a slumbering Superman....
I have got a new award! (Thank Peter ) Would be happy to pass it on to you. I feel you fit perfectly to the description!
The 'Power of Schmooze Award' is The Award for bloggers who “effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way. They don’t limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well. They are the ones who engage others in meaningful conversations, refusing to let it end at a mere hello - all the while fostering a sense of closeness and friendship".
Normally you should forward to five persons, but I don't believe there is a fine!
Hello everyone!
Merci, Olivier. J'ai fait mes choix!
That looks like fun. Thanks for stopping by and wishing my mom well.
I use to love riding rollercoasters. Now I leave that to the grandchildren. I was never on Coney Island...looks nice.
I've never been there, but I've heard about Coney Island all my life. I bought some Coney Island hot dog mustard once.
I've neither been to NYC nor Coney Island but Coney Island's amusement park is part of the fabric of America. That would be sad for it to close.
I have never been on the Cyclone. I hear it is/was fun.
