Unisphere

Last weekend I walked past the Unisphere in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, and here are some photos. It was constructed for the 1965-65 World's Fair.

Here is a close-up. A happy week to everyone.

Baseball Season!

I'm more of a Yankees fan myself, even though I'm showing a picture of Shea Stadium today. Go Yankees and Mets!

Mister Softee

Now that the weather is getting warmer, I'm starting to see the "Mister Softee" ice cream trucks returning to the streets.

The chocolate dip cone is my personal favorite.

One More Orchid Show

This weekend was the New York International Orchid Show at Rockefeller Center. The orchids in this show are in a competition, (unlike the one I showed last month at the botanical garden.)

This one was the winner for Best Ikebana arrangement. It was all very beautiful!

Central Park Scenes

On Friday during lunch I took a walk in Central Park and I thought I would share some of the things I saw. (I know I show a lot of pictures of Central Park, but I love it so much!) Here is a concert ...

a juggler,
... and some petanque players.

A New Gallery at the Met

This weekend the Metropolitan Museum opened a new gallery to display their Roman and Greek art. I went to see it and thought I would share some photos here. It is a beautiful space full of natural light and the art is amazing. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in New York!

A Nice Place to Sit

Outside of the World Financial Center - a nice place to look at the sunset (and to take a walk.)

Looking towards New Jersey from the WFC. Have a nice weekend everyone!

Bottle House

I saw this Bottle House on one of the piers in Riverside Park. Here is an inside and an outside view. It even has a shower and a little kitchen inside. (I don't think they work though!) update: It is by the artist Malcolm Cochran.

A colorful building

A colorful building on 8th Avenue. I don't know anything about this building, (I wish I knew more to tell you!), but I think it makes a nice picture.

Macy's Flower Show Windows

Here are some of the windows from the flower show. (I wish I knew how to photograph them without so much reflection!)
