New Leaf

This is a springtime view of the New Leaf Cafe, a restaurant in Fort Tryon Park in northern Manhattan. If you are visiting the Cloisters Museum, this is a nice place to have lunch afterwards. I'm going to take a break from posting this week (as I've got no photos to show!) so I'll catch up and see you next week.

Spring Blossoms

Even though the sky wasn't very blue, the trees were in full bloom last Saturday in Riverside Park. They were beautiful and so fragrant too!

Runners

Since I've been on a sports theme, this weekend I happened upon the New York Relays which were held for our local high school runners at Icahn Stadium on Randall's Island. Unfortunately I just got this one shot before my camera battery died. They looked fast after they started though!

Soccer game

Now that temperatures are a bit warmer, outdoor games can return to the parks. This was a soccer game this weekend in Riverside Park.

U.N. Building

I read that all of the workers at the U.N. General Assembly have cleared out of their building as it is in the midst of a major renovation. This is the U.N. building seen from the East River. I've always wanted to check out the U.N. so I'll have to visit after they've finished.

Rings

There is a lot to enjoy in Riverside Park, which runs along the Hudson River on the West Side of Manhattan. These rings seemed to be popular, and a good way to build up your arm strength.

Park Avenue

I haven't taken many new photos lately, so I've been experimenting with adding some color to them (as I did with yesterday's photo too.) This is crossing Park Avenue on the Upper East Side.

Signs of Spring

Sunshine and some warmth here are making for signs of spring, finally!

Birch Point Beach

This is Birch Point Beach in Owl's Head, Maine. It's called a pocket beach because it's protected on two sides by the headlands. It was a beautiful spring day and there were lots of people out to enjoy the fresh air (though it doesn't look it from the picture.) Enjoy the weekend and see you Monday.

Mount Battie

This is a view from the top of Mount Battie in Camden Hills State Park in Maine. It has a great view of the town of Camden and the harbor. It's a really nice place to take a hike too. But luckily you can also drive to the top!

Schooner

I guess they were doing some spring upkeep on this schooner in Camden, Maine. (See the people up on the ladders.) I'm not sure what they were up to. The boat in front is the Mary Day, a schooner that they take out for tours in the warmer months.

Roses

Roses everywhere! This was a store window I passed recently advertising some sort of perfume. The roses definitely caught my eye. I can practically smell them! Have a good weekend and Happy Easter! Traveling for a few days see you middle of next week!

Butterflies

This is a portion of a decorated hot-air balloon on display at the Macy's Flower Show. With such a crowd of people there, it was hard to get a photo with any flowers in it. I guess the butterflies will have to do!
