Blue Wall

Here's a blue wall to make us think of blue skies. We had such a beautiful day in New York yesterday. I'm not sure it the wall is a public art exhibit or if it's just a wall.

Di Palo

This is a window at Di Palo's the cheese shop and Italian market in Little Italy. It smells so good inside with all of that cheese! Little Italy in Manhattan seems to get smaller and smaller, but I hope this store will always be there!

Furniture

I've never purchased any furniture on the street. This person set up shop on the sidewalk and seems to specialize in white furniture. I didn't actually see anyone around, so they must be very confident that it won't disappear.

Yellow

We haven't seen much sun lately so I felt like posting something bright yellow. It makes me wish for some sunnier weather! Have a good Wednesday.

Orchids

This is from a visit to the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx last weekend to see the orchid show. This year the show has a broadway theme. This was inspired by the proscenium of a broadway theater. The orchids were so beautiful.

Runners

Now that the weather is a little warmer, it is finally nice to get outside and do some running. These are runners taking part in the More Magazine Half-Marathon a few weeks ago in Central Park. Have a great weekend!!

Bench

Here's another peaceful spot at Wave Hill in the Bronx. It's such a lovely place. I can't wait to go back when everything is blooming!

Glory-of-the-Snow

I saw these beautiful purple flowers recently at Wave Hill, the beautiful gardens and cultural center in Riverdale, the Bronx. These flowers are called Glory-of-the-Snow. Here is a description from their website: "Glory-of-the-snow fills the garden beds with gentian-blue flowers in late winter. Native to the mountains of southwestern Turkey, Chionodoxa requires cold winters and thrives along the Hudson."

Sunset

The sun setting recently over Manhattan as seen from Long Island City, Queens. My friends have a view like this from their roof. I'm so jealous!

Columbia C

This is a "C" for Columbia University, seen above the Harlem River on rocks that overlook the Inwood section of Manhattan. Appartently the C was first painted in the 50's and is touched up from time to time by members of the Columbia crew team, who train in the area.

Vases

Some pretty glasses vases I saw recently at the Metropolitan Museum. They had such a nice assortment of colors and shapes. Have a nice weekend and see you Monday!

Fountains

The fountains at the Metropolitan Museum are working again after being out of service for some time. On a hot day you want to dip you toes in. Unfortunately it hasn't been warm in a while!

Central Park Bridge

This is one of the bridges in Central Park. I wonder how many there are altogether? This one leads to the path around the reservoir and gives a beautiful view towards the reservoir and the east side.

Fire Escapes

I don't have much to say about this one other than I liked the sight of all of the fire escapes in different colors and directions on these Soho buildings.

Armory Window

Continuing on the window theme from Friday, this is one of the windows at the Park Avenue Armory, where I saw the quilt exhibit last week. It is a beautiful and unique space, with stained glass by Louis Comfort Tiffany. You can read more about the Armory here.

Windows

From a visit to the Met Museum last weekend. I always love these windows looking out on the park. The view is so different with each season. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
