Graffiti artists

I happened upon these guys while they were painting the other day. They were doing a very colorful vibrant graffiti on a building on the west side. I thought they were doing very nice work.

And here is after they caught me taking their picture (oops!) They seemed like nice guys! (P.S. I just noticed that yesterday was my 400th post. I never thought I'd make it that long with the blog!

Is it art or vandalism? personally I like good graffiti, but not the mindless spray can slogans that are around.

Looks more like street art than graffiti.

Lori, cheers to you on your 400th post! Your photographs and comments brighten my day!

As long as they have the permission of the property owner, I have no problem with it, as some can be colorful and artistic.

Some of them have dedication to their craft that has led to successful careers in art related business. Others, like those defacing public property like the subway cars in the '70s and '80s are simply vandals.

You know what I like the best? That the ladder leads you to the cloud. That's kind of poetic. :)
And they seem happy to see you, which is a good thing. Means they are legit artists.

And congrats on four hundred posts! You should take yourself out, somewhere nice. ;)

félicitation pour ton 400th post, cela fait plaisir et c'est toujours un plaisir de venir visiter ton NYC.
Bonne continuité. Je me rappelle ton 1er post, cela devait être sur Chinatown.
