Museum of Arts and Design

I visited a new museum in Manhattan this past weekend. The Museum of Arts and Design, located in Columbus Circle, focuses on innovation in craft, art, and design. They had some really interesting exhibits, like sculptures made out of plastic spoons and one made out of phone books! I was hoping to take a good photo of Central Park from the museum, but the windows all have material on them to keep out the light. (I know this photo isn't very good, I snapped it on the run!) Have a great week ahead!

je ne connais pas ce musée, l'immeuble est très beau, tout en verre.

I do not know this museum, the building is very beautiful, while glass.

The museum’s new graphic identity can already be seen throughout the city, on the sides of buses, on street banners, in print ads and in the subways. The geometric-based mark reflects the circles and squares present in the building’s shape; its location, on Columbus Circle; and the building’s iconic “lollipop” columns retained in the redesign.

Sounds interesting. I'll be putting up a post this week about my trip to the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. Funny for you to mention a sculpture made of plastic, one of my favorite pieces from the gallery was made from plastic pieces too.

Was it snapped literally "on the run" ?

Love those lines of the building reaching for the sky.

"snapped it on the run..." while a guard was chasing her, shouting
"No photography permitted here!"

Yours is the first report I've read by someone who has actually gone inside the building. I haven't been in there yet; I'll put it on the long list of places that I've never visited in NYC. Someday, someday.
