Bandelier National Monument

I had the great pleasure of attending a wedding in Santa Fe, New Mexico last week, and since I have lots of photos of places I saw in that area, I thought I'd show a few this week. This is a photo of Frijoles Canyon in Bandelier National Monument near Los Alamos, New Mexico. You can see the remains of a pueblo dwelling in the front of the photo. It was an amazing place to visit and I recommend it if you are in that part of the country. More photos to come!

Great rock formations. I bet it hot hiking in that area, you;ll need plenty of water. Have some of ours.

cela fait penser à un décor de science fiction, perdu dans le désert.
it looks like a science fiction decor, lost in the desert.

Bonjour Lori,
Yes, you are absolutly right this part of the country is not to be missed.
We have been there (in summer) and loved this region: amazing canyons, fascinating wildlife, pueblos ruins, artistic atmopshere like in Taos and Santa Fe. We also loved the place of Los Alamos, up in the mountain so much an extent that we consider to move in this area later.
Thank you Lori for bringing up this nice memory to me.

We were in big trouble with my daughter for not stopping at Bandelier National Monument two Octobers ago. We had already driven though the mountains, made several stops along the way, and planned to stop in Santa Fe before heading back. We seldom get to New Mexico, but have family in Albuquerque. We were there for a wedding too. (You can see some of my pics in my old blogs from October 2006.)
