General Grant National Monument

Do you know who is buried here? Well, actually no one. But, General Ulysses Grant and his wife Julia are entombed here and it is now a national monument. I don't live all that far from here and just saw it up close for the first time last weekend. It is on Riverside Drive in the Morningside Heights section of Manhattan.

Wow! Didn't know there was a monument up there. I have to say, Morningside Heights is the place I have explored the least.

Maybe I should take a trip up there one of these weekends...when it gets warmer, of course.

Hello everyone! Thanks for visiting today. Nazzareno, I don't know what that flag is either. Olivier I think I'll show those benches tomorrow!

Lori - this is a really great shot. It does look postcard like. I think you take excellent photos, please don't take this the wrong way, but your photography is definatley improving. I hope I can get as good as you.

I've always heard of Grant's tomb, but I don't know if I've ever seen it. Looks impressive!
