Just a picture today of some typical New York traffic. Actually this picture was taken on a Sunday, so it wasn't all that bad. But some days can be terrible. They have been talking about a "congestion pricing" plan where they would charge per car to enter midtown. It's been very controversial, but it might not be a bad idea.

Wow! This on a Sunday?
Thank goodness I don't drive in NYC.
... for how much can undertake, you will never succeed in reaching our ... road nightmares! :D
A good shot. The congestion charge worked well for London.
il est plus agréable de marcher a pied dans NYC.
It is more pleasant to walk on foot in NYC.
Gridlock in NYC on a Sunday!?! Wow! I thought it was a typical weekday, until reading the post. Lori, you captured it well!
This is what I remember most when I visited NY years ago, the traffic.
They have a congestion charge in London and it has worked very well. They are talking about using the idea in other big cities. Luckily we don't have huge traffic problems in Cheltenham!
Yes, that looks like 'the big apple'....do you own a car?
No gridlock? Perfect trafic!
Also loved the Gramercy Park picture!
I'll be absent for a while. Meanwhile, leave you with a somehow surprising post at Blogtrotter
Wish you a great fortnight and see you by mid-February!
Traffic in New York, and I'll face that in Southern CA too.
Love the picture...coming from such a small town, big cities look exciting.
Thanks for your comments everyone! Gudl, I just saw your question. No, I don't have a car, thankfully!
The aspect of city living I will never miss!
