Here's a nice place to go if you are craving something sweet. The Chelsea Market at Ninth Avenue and 15th Street is home to many good bakeries and some nice food shops. I always enjoy a stroll through this place. I think it used to be some sort of factory, turned into an indoor market. One of the nice things about New York! Here's a nice place to go if you are craving something sweet. The Chelsea Market at Ninth Avenue and 15th Street is home to many good bakeries and some nice food shops. I always enjoy a stroll through this place. I think it used to be some sort of factory, turned into an indoor market. One of the nice things about New York! I love how NY takes old buildings and reuses them. Our city just mows them over and builds new buildings. :(
i know they have a similar indoor market in Milwaukee....never been there ....will share the images if and when I make it :)
A good modern use for this old factory. I clicked to enlarge the photo to see the halloween decoration and I spyed the giant pumpkins on the stall in the background :)
Contrary to Greg's thoughts, I always thought the city lagged behind other smaller cities when it came to adaptive re-use of older buildings. But no matter, like Chelsea Market, have not been for a long time. Like how you used the "hole in the wall" to frame your view.
I love browsing through markets like this. You made this one look old and interesting!
