Kearsarge

This is a photo of one of the ships in New York last weekend for the annual Fleet Week. Fleet Week is a celebration for the Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen who come to the city for some vacation time and for demonstrations and displays of the participating ships. These flags were on the U.S.S. Kearsarge. I'm afraid I don't know much about the boat or its origins. I liked the colorful flags though. A good weekend to all!

I like the contrast between the bright colors and the grays. Also the contrast between the flags in the wind with the heaviness of the ships.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Lori! I'm so glad to see you back!
Sorry for the speedy visit! I’ve been busy the whole last week and will be out in the next, so this is far less than your blog deserves… ;(( But I promise I’ll come back with more time after June 10th, at least…
However, to avoid leaving you empty hands, I published a last post on Marrakesh 2006 at Blogtrotter. Enjoy, and don't hesitate to comment... ;))

Its sad to see that people have nothing better to do then be hurtful. I enjoy your post and love you photographs. Thanks for you post and pictures and dont let miserable people get to you. ;) You can visit me blog as well and comments are always welcome. ;) Have a Great Day!
