World Financial Center

This is the structure that was behind me when I took yesterday's photo of the boats. (I think I've shown a picture of the inside before.) It is the Winter Garden at the World Financial Center in Lower Manhattan. The World Financial Center is a combination of office buildings and public spaces where they offer performances and exhibitions. There is a nice place to walk along the water outside the building too, leading towards the southern tip of the island.

It does look an interesting place to wander full of contrasts. Dont places look so inviting when theres a bit of sun around. Like Wanda says, youre a good advert for NY showing us all these spots.

c'est un bâtiment magnifique, surtout l'intérieur avec tous ces palmiers. Avec en plus ,une vue sur Ground Zero.

it is a magnificent building, especially the inside with all these palm trees. With the addition of overlooking Ground Zero.

Makes me glad I'm not a window washer! I hope NYCity gets more sunshine than Rochester does.

That is a great photo! I think I mentioned it before...I was in the building a few times already because my brother-in-law works there.
When 9-11 happened it was full of rubble.

I still remember the pictures of it after 9/11. I'm glad it's been rebuilt!

One of my favorite places, and packed with memories, too. I was a guest on an architectural tour while the restoration was in progress, just before it was re-opened to the public. There are a lot of false stories about this place, but in fact, it never fell down, all the windows were not shattered, and it is not exactly as it was before the attacks.
