Building top

Here's another of the photos I took from the hotel terrace. Can you guess the building in the photo? Okay it's the Chrysler building. We weren't all that close, but at least I could zoom in to get this shot. I wonder if you can go to the top and peer out from these windows?

Spectacular photo! I have always wondered about that, too, so looked it up. According to the web, "The 71st floor observation deck has triangular windows, with the walls having stars and the lights appearing as saturn. In 1945 the observation deck was closed, the Cloud Club followed in the 1970's. It is now leased to tenants. The "Cloud Club" was a private lounge area at the top of the building where people could rest and in the times of prohibition, had a hidden room." Now I really want to visit it!

That's a cool shot! It's the first time I've seen the top of that building so close.

A beautiful shot of my favorite building in New York! And I love that when it was being built, the 185-foot spire was secretly constructed inside the building. When it was hoisted into place, the Chrysler Building became the tallest building in the world, winning the height competition with a building going up on Wall Street at the time.

This is one of my favourite buildings in New York and you have captured the reason why - the architecture and style. You just don't get buildings like this anymore, mores the pity.
