South Street Seaport Boats

Some boats today from the South Street Seaport. It is mostly a mall there now, but there is also a museum at the Seaport and some interesting looking ships too. You can also get a beautiful view of the Brooklyn Bridge from the South Street Seaport. I'll have to show some bridge pictures soon!

you are right lori, it is one of the very beautiful sights of Brooklyn bridge when you go up in top of the small shopping centre (and also a beautiful sight on Skyline of Brooklyn). I like much this place, with this sailing ship “Flying P-Liner Peking”. you have already visit the museum? Right in front of the entry of the museum, there is “The Titanic Memorial Lighthouse”. Good Day

Interesting photo ... it shows a sailing ship & a steam tugboat in the same shot. Definitely boats from a different era.

That beautiful... the infinity of ropes, the boats, the lines of ships... seems to be there.

Very nice composition on this one. I think this would make a nice B&W also.

Hey Lori, thanx for your appreciation of the pic on my blog today. and yeah, every evening we get rains after sweltering heat in the day. In fact as i type right now, I can see clouds rolling in for today's show :)

Hope you are having a great Tuesday :)

This again demonstrates you have a instinctive eye for composition Lori, sometimes only learned as the rule of thirds. Looking back again at your posts, another quality of many of them is of "lightness." Many draw us into the light, using it effectivly. I like that.

BTW, if you ever feel a real need to eliminate most of the reflection in a glass window or on water, there is a "polarizing filter" that may be used on some camera lenses.

Your March 9 photograph "On The Train, Riding Though Harlem" has the quality of a Hopper painting: color, composition and feeling!

Hi everyone and thanks for your visits today!

Olivier, non, je n'ai jamais visité le musée au Seaport mais je voudrais le visiter un jour!

and P.S., Plainsman, thanks for your suggestion about the polarizing filter. I'll have to try that one of these days.
