Waiting for the Bus

Okay, I know it's not a very exciting photo today. I'm not sure why this photo appealed to me. I like to observe the people here in New York and for some reason I usually like photos the best when people are in them. These people were waiting for the bus on Fifth Avenue. I think it was something about the way they were standing that I liked and I couldn't tell whether they knew each other or not. Anyway, I have to practice my people photos! Have a nice Thursday.

Lori, this is a nice "people" photo. You are right, it's hard to tell whether they knew each other. Incidentally, do you think that the clothing industry will ever stop torturing us with those hideously uncomfortable garment labels?

Cheers.

Oui, ce sont leurs postures qui sont intéressantes, chacun a sa manière de se tenir, c'est fascinant !

I think this photo has some humor to it. The guy on the left looks like he's saying; when the hell is that bus coming. Then the girl looks like she's kind of impatient. The guy with the soda looks like he is taking it in stride. It made me laugh though.

P.S. I see tags sticking out all the time on peoples shirts and it drives me nuts. Not sure why. Just don't like advertising the wash instructions or the size. I cut mine all out.

un instantane de la vie, comme dit nathalie, chacun sa posture. Quand je suis à NYC, j'adore prendre le bus, ils sont plus moderne que les notres, et surtout, j'etais surpris, tout est fait pour aider les handicapes, je trouve cela genial.

instantaneous of the life, like known as Nathalie, each one her posture. When I am with NYC, I adore to travel by the bus, they are more modern than ours, and especially, I was surprised, all is made to help handicap them, I find that brilliant.

A pleasant photograph. Three actors seem! The nicest one is that with the hat that seeks of vision the arrival of the bus.

hehehe...life of a bus commuter. They look like me feeling the irritations, the frustrations, the impatience when the bus is either delayed or on strike.

I agree with Iv2scpbk about some humor in this picture, when I first seen this picture I got a good little laugh about it. This is a good people picture for sure.

I'm a people-watcher too, and I also make photos that I wonder if anyone else will understand why I made them. It doesn't matter. Shoot for your own enjoyment first. If others like it too, that's a bonus.

I like this one because it makes the viewer think about what the subjects are doing or thinking. I wonder how this would lookas a B&W?

I like your people photo's I want to do more of them but I am chicken to take their pictures for fear they will get mad. What is your secret?

Hi everyone!!

fénix, you are so right, they need to get rid of labels forever!!

John, that's a good idea, I'm going to experiment and see how it looks in black and white.

Olivier, J'adore de prendre le bus à NYC aussi. On peut voir tous! Mais c'est un peu plus lent que le subway.

Greg, I just take people's pictures when they aren't looking at me!!

Thanks everyone for visiting!

Rightaway I saw the lady's tag sticking up / out of her tshirt!
I don't think these people belong together. It is a fun shot!

I don't know why you don't find it exciting. I feel it's a superb catch...

I love to get pictures of people when they have no idea they are having a picture made. Nice capture.

Lori: My son-in-law set up his laptop for me so I'm taking a couple of minutes to comment on some of my favorites!
I love the photo. Each person has such a story....I wanted to put the lady's tag on her shirt in. The gentleman in he middle, I wondered if he was sneezing...and the man in the front is really looking for that bus....really interesting pix.
Heading home Sat night.

I think that most people drawn to photography are people watchers. I don't take many photos of people, because I'm a ginormous chicken, but I love to people watch. Despite my fear of offending someone with my camera, I come from a long line of people watchers.

I'd think NYC would be people watcher's heaven.

You don't have to practice your "people photo" for sure. This one is perfect !!!
