Window from the U.S. Custom House

A few weeks ago I visited the National Museum of the American Indian and I took this picture of a window there. The museum is housed in the former U.S. Custom House, a really beautiful building in downtown Manhattan. The museum is free because it is part of the Smithsonian and it's worth a visit if you are in New York. I have a few other pictures from that visit which I'll show sometime soon.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

I've only been visiting your site for a short time, but this is definitely one of your best images yet! I think I can see some of Anna from London's influence on your work here. I think.

I love this one. If you hadn't put in an explanation, it's a photo that could have been any size, anywhere.

I like explanations. Some folks just put up a pic and leave me wondering what the heck it is. I like explanations with photographs, for the sake of my sanity. Curiosity can be a curse.

As I look at this I get a strange optical illusion. The darkness at the centre of the window seems to shift slightly as your eye wanders around it.
Very much liked your people at a bus stop as well.
