Window on Fifth Avenue

This is another photo from my visit to the main branch of the New York Public Library last weekend. The view through the window is on to Fifth Avenue (where the cabs are going south) and 41st Street. I wish the building across the street wasn't covered in scaffolding. I'll have to go back and take another shot after it comes down.

Enjoy your weekend everyone and see you Monday!

From this beautiful window, perfectly geometric, it is looked at, like in one magical mirror, the true face of the city, its traffic, its scent, its life.Ciao, buon fine settimana!

I love the shape of the window as a frame. You could even blur the background a little more and make the window itself and the light fixture the main subject. Great architecture gives you lots of possibilities.

Really nice. I'd love to spend some time in a monstrous library like that. I'd have to bring a sleeping bag, I wouldn't want to leave.

I'd love to see this same shot with your camera on a tripod at twilight, so that you could still see detail in the window, but the outside would be a combo of the waning natural light and the man made lights as well.

I like shots through windows they make it very real. The Brooklyn skyline looks terrific with the grenn roof especially. Enjoy your weekend.

Perfectly framed photo. I love the chandelier/lamp hanging from the top.
