They hit me two things: 1) the traffic lights are all reds and, 2) the number of the air conditioners to the windows. "Buon fine settimana" also to you, amused!
Hi Fénix, DaveM and Isabella, thanks for your visits.
Fénix, I was crossing the street when I took the photo. I tried a shot from the side, but it was better when I went into the middle. Luckily the cars who were turning were patient.
Pierre, actually I was on West End Avenue (upper west side) and I was around 76th or 77th Street when I took this picture. Northbound is right though! :-)
Thanks Ming! I wasn't high up actually, I was just crossing the street. I think West End Avenue slopes down a little bit then goes up again, so that made it easier. But I did use the zoom in and crop feature in the software that came with my camera. So I zoomed in on what was in the distance. Maybe that makes it look like I took it from above?
I love to take pictures and am trying to learn about photography. I hope this blog will inspire me to take more photos of the world around me and become a better photographer. Thanks for visiting!

Hello everyone,
Thanks Kala, I do like living in NYC. You can never be bored!
Gudl, you must be an early riser! I notice you always make comemnts early in the a.m. Maybe your chickens wake you up!
Olivier, oui, j'ai de la chance. J'adore mon quartier!
Greg, thanks for the compliment!
Nazzareno, you are observant! I didn't notice all of the air conditioners in the picture. We tend to use them too much here. Buon fine settimana!
Hi Lori! Where were you standing?
Love the perspective, and the sense of travelling down a tunnel. Nice pic.
Now I am jealous! Great photo, great street, great "quartier"!
Bon week-end!

A nice Sunday to everyone!
Your street is sooo pretty!! I had a photo of my street a couple months ago...and it doesn't look as nice as yours.
How did you take this photo at such a height? It looks like you are very high up looking down on the street.
Thanks Ming! I wasn't high up actually, I was just crossing the street. I think West End Avenue slopes down a little bit then goes up again, so that made it easier. What a beautiful street!
