This past week was Fleet Week in New York, an annual event where about 3,000 sailors, Marines and Coast Guard members came to the city for a weeklong visit. This year the ships were docked in Manhattan and Staten Island. This is a photo of the USS Wasp, which was docked at Pier 90 in Manhattan and which leaves today. Unfortunately I got there too late to take a tour of the ship. Maybe next year!

je me rappelle cette fete, sur times square c'etait de la folie. et il prennait les marins en gros plans sur le grand ecran de times square. J'avais reussi a me faire prendre et j'ai une photo de moi sur le grand ecran de times square ;o).
I remember this festival, on times square it was madness. and it filmed the sailors approximately plane on the large screen of times square. I had succeeded has to make me take and I have a photograph of me on the large screen of times square ;O).
Very nice photos, Miss Bin. The weather was so hot this weekend that I didn't do much. I pretty much stayed indoors and have dinners with friends at the neighborhood cafes/restaurants.

Ming, I was away last weekend but I think I would have stayed inside too if I was here. Glad I missed the heat! I took these photos last night and there were lots of sailors around.
Greg, that's right you are a Navy man! I'm sure you spent a lot of time on ships like this.
