Food models

This is taken at the food court at Mitsuwa a huge Japanese grocery store and marketplace. These are models of the actual dishes (not sure what they are made of) but they look incredibly realistic! This store is in Edgewater, New Jersey and is where I took the shot of yesterday's Hudson river view.

The food does look amazingly real. I'd love to know how they do this.
Your skyline shot from yesterdays post is beautiful.

Fascinating - perhaps they make a rubber mold of each seperate food and cast it in resin, then paint it realistically, use more resin for the sauces? It might be the work of a talented, and well fed artist!

However it is done, it is a very nice display...and makes a unique pic. Some day you need to get about 25 miles south in NJ where I was born and lived :-)...Hope the train ride is going well.
