Steam Pipes

Just a random street scene for today. I thought the steam pipes gave the picture a foggy look. I don't know much about the steam pipe system in the city. I often pass steampipes and manholes with steam pouring out in the winter time. I guess they have this in other cities too. There's a lot happening underground that we don't think about!

voila ce qui fait l'atmosphère de NYC et permet de faire de belles photos. Avec en cadeau, le grandiose Chrysler.

Steam pipes? I always was told those were vents from Hades. That's why so many were downtown, close to Wall Street! (Sorry Wall St. people, I could not resist!)

Actually, NYC has one of the most complex steam delivery systems in the world. A facinating subject in itself. Jay W.

Steam pipes are synonymous with NYC ... seems that they are shown quite often in TV showsor movies shot in NYC. Great capture of one of the characterisitics of the Big Apple!

Love, love , love this photo! As I've said before the Chrysler building is one of my favourites and this shot just says New York with the steam.
