Brooklyn Church

I wish I could tell you something about this church that I saw in Brooklyn this summer. Unfortunately I didn't write down the name and now I can't seem to identify it online. It's on a pretty street in Brooklyn Heights. I'm sure it must have some historial significance!

c'est vraiment typique des vieilles églises de Brooklyn, j'en avais vu pas mal dans le quartier historique. C'est un endroit que j'aime bien. Belle photo

A Dramatic view. I drew a blank on the ID as well, does not appear to be part of St. Ann's or Grace Churces; the architecture seems to resemble many period Episcopal churches. Wll work on it later if no-one else has solved it!

Just finished a project an am back. Is it part of this church? First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn at 124 Henry St. Perhaps you have shown another end, some details match, such as the four section wide window and the indented verticals on each side of the window. http://www.fpcbrooklyn.org/main.php

Hi Jay, I bet that's it! I think that was the area where I took the picture. Thanks for solving the mystery.

It looks quite old, but can't beat the architecture! Cool shot!

The challenge was fun, but my first search proved fruitless and had to abandon it to finish writing for a deadline. Later, I had minutes to spare before a meeting and found a searchable blog about Brooklyn Heights and entered "church." That produced a brief descriptive list of about twenty.

Only time enough but to click on one that intuitively seemed like a match. Seeing the photo on the church's web site, looking at the architectural details and reading how one reached it from the subway, seemed to confirm that it was likely what you photographed. Yes! Sometimes tight deadlines, even for a fun discovery, are productive.
