Waiting for Christmas

The Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center is in its place and they are getting it ready for its unveiling. I heard that they always choose trees that are nearing the end of their lives, so we don't feel that bad about chopping them down. Hopefully that's true! There will also be some sort of energy efficient lighting this year. I'll have to go back and get another shot after it is officially unveiled!

On attend avec impatience l'arrivée de l'arbre de noël, on peut le voir via une webcam sur le Rockfeller center, c'est toujours un grand moment de la vie New Yorkaise.

Unbelievable and admirable the organization, the care and the love that precedes the party of the year!

Christmas in NYC is something special. I just wish they would wait until after Thanksgiving to get the season started. When I was a boy, watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade on TV was the unofficial start of the Christmas season. Today, many stores are putting out Christmas decorations before Halloween!

Wow, that is quite a job to get that tree done! I never knew that it looks like that beforehand. Thanks for sharing!

Great photo!! I like that you report from area that I avoid this time of year: I can continue to do so and just have to savour this comfortably from my computer! :)

Its my age I guess...somehow I mistook the highlight in the lower reflection for a nipple some kind of giant bronzed breast, There now, I bet that has a few others doing a double take on the photo!
