Crystal Ball

Here is another photo from my trip to Macy's this week. On the first floor they are displaying the actual ball that drops in Times Square on New Year's Eve. Apparently it is made by Waterford Crystal. It changes all different colors and was quite sparkly in person. I've never been in Times Square on New Year's Eve. I think I'd rather watch it on tv. I hope you all have a great weekend!

The ball is 100 years old this year. This is why they came up with this new LCD one this year.
I've been one in the crowd of Times Square. It was on the millenium and it was tons of fun. It's one of those thing that are fun to do "once", with good friends.
Two years ago, I saw it from above - we had a party at our office that oversees the flag where the ball is dropped. Quite fun to see the fireworks coming at you.

Love the reflection coming off the poster in the left hand corner.

We are all children, more it draws near the event, more it grows the excitement...

I was in Times Square on New Year's Eve 1975. The crowd was so thick that I couldn't move, and I couldn't see too much of what was going on. I'll take Dick Clark and the TV version anytime!

This brings back memories! Not the ball, I see it only on tv, too, but Macy's. I've been there a few times.

You have a great one too Lori. I like to stay home on New Years because of all the crazy people out there driving. I never knew the ball was made of crystal.

The ball looks bigger on the telly! Didn't know it was made of crystal either.
