Dakota

I wish I had a better shot of this (I took this picture from a cab riding by) because it is one of my favorite buildings in New York. It is the the Dakota apartment building and whenever I see it I think of old New York. I love to see old pictures of New York when the Dakota used to stand by itself next to Central Park. I would just love to see inside. Unfortunately I don't know anyone who lives there!

son histoire restera toujours lie au nom de John Lennon. Yōko Ono vit toujours dans cet immeuble. Tu as raison c'est vraiment un superbe immeuble.
Its history will always lie on name of John Lennon. Yoko Ono still lives in this building. You are right it is really a beautiful building

My girlfriend waits until places are for sale ( perhaps and appartment in this case?) and then books a visit. No intention of buying she just wants to see what they are like...

I believe Yoko Ono still lives there. So do Lauren Bacall, Maury Provich & Connie Chung.

Praise the Lord for these marvellous and characteristic old buildings, Lori.
I guess that you can't simply go inside, with all the security.
Anyway, sometimes some of our best shots are taken spontaneously, even from a moving car.
I love this one, and the way in which you took it.
Ripper.... and thank you !

Well, I'd say this is a very nice picture from taxi!! Really, well done. If you find somebody to visit there, would you invite me to go along? I'd be nice and behave, I swear.
