Police Building

Another building I passed the other day during my stroll down Grand Street, was the former Police headquarters building, which was left by the police in 1973 and turned into condominiums in 1987. You can read more about it here. There are 55 luxury apartments inside these days. Wouldn't it be fun to see inside one of them!?

I wonder if its called Police Academy 7 ??? I've read that a few old prisons have also been turned into hotels. As you say interesting places to stay.

Nice shot! If those walls could talk, there would be some interesting stories!

love the historical ambiguity of architecture. - you never know what the real story is.

Always an imposing structure - but even more so when the NYPD brass was headquartered inside. I wonder if anyone lives in the holding cells? :o)
