We happened upon this sand mandala at the American Museum of Natural History last weekend. It was so popular, you couldn't even get close to it! At the end of the day they have a ceremony where a monk destroys the mandala, and the sand is put in a jar and later poured in the river. Amazing how they can get the geometric shapes and lines so straight. As to the impermanence of life and our world, I'm remined of that each day!
