Christopher Street Statues

Going back into my older photos I found this one of a group of statues from a park near Christopher Street in Greenwich Village. They almost seem frozen in time, or are about to come to life. Hopefully I'll be able to find the time to take some new photos one of these days!

They look like the "living Statue" artists you see in city centres.

je suis fan des œuvres de George Segal, j'aime bien celle là surtout l'hiver, elle se marie bien avec la neige ;) et puis un beau quartier.
I'm a fan of works by George Segal, I like this one especially in winter, it goes well with the snow) and then a nice neighborhood.

Hi Lori! Another week has passed without a chance to drop by. It seems time runs faster when you get to a certain age... ;)

I like this one, and miss the place... My daughter is now in NYC and I'm a bit jealous... ;)

Blogtrotter is trying to have fun in the Turkish Riviera. Enjoy and have a marvellous weekend!

I like how you've framed this scene.

Yes, good photo, have always liked Segal's work as well. But in one way, the image is a bit unsettling, as it now also evokes memories of the white dust laden survivors of 911 as they escaped that calamity eight years ago.

I guess every major city has statues like these, I know of at least one in Honolulu.
