Subway Tiles

Many of the subway stations in New York have interesting mosaics. These birds were at the 81st street station on the B,C lines on the west side of Manhattan. That's the stop for the Museum of Natural History, thus the animal theme. They had some lovely mosaics along the platform.

Those bird mosaics appear to be very large, too! ID? They look like the extinct dodo and possibly some sort of flamingo-type to me.

This mosaic gave me thoughts to ponder, as it appeared to me that the front bird, was casting the shadow of a totally different bird... How true to life sometimes when what we really are, cast a different shadow that people see...

All that deep thought...and it isn't even Sunday... ha ha

Think of you often..
