I didn't have time this weekend to go out and take some photos, but I did have time to take my old computer to the Lower East Side Ecology Center's pickup day for electronics recycling. That's very exciting, huh! Sorry not to have a more fun picture for today, but it was nice to see everyone bringing in their old stuff to be recycled. And to think I was tempted to put it in the trash!

You did the right thing Lori.
Let's hope they are properly recycled and not shipped overseas where they just become a bio-hazard for someone else.
Its good that most places now have recycling schemes. I have used Yahoo's local Freecycle scheme which is a great way of passing on stuff you no longer need. But Wayne's comment has made me think about what happens to them later.
Yes, many are shipped overseas and taken apart and ultimately recycled there, where most are in fact, built in the first place. I have a few items to take when they have our electronics recycling day here in the spring.
Recycling collection centers like this are a bit more secure than the trash, too, in case you have not wiped out all your old files.
ici on recycle beaucoup les anciens ordinateurs, on les répare (ce qui donne du travail) et on les donne a des associations. je pense que c'est une très bonne idée.
here we recycle many old computers, repair (which provides work) and then gives associations. I think this is a very good idea.
i totally agree with you ,it's important and vital to recycal!good photo ;)
Better to be recycled, that to be thrown in a landfill. Good photo!
Glad you are doing your bit! Its amazing what can be recycled these days.
I wish somebody wanted my old junk.
