Heading South

I guess these geese were taking a break from their trip down south for the winter. The geese are often seen as a nuisance in the parks here nowadays since there are so many of them, but I still like to see them floating in the water. They make for a pretty fall picture.

I wonder is some of them over winter in the parks. I agree they make a mess on the paths but look good on the water.

Brought back kid memories of those flocks winging overhead during the fall, on their way South for winter. Guess they found an easier life staying year round in our region. Pretty, but watch your step!

They are pretty on the water. It's what they leave along the shoreline that is not so nice. Canada geese make for some very nice photos and are fascinating to watch. I'm happy to see them on the pond up the road and love to hear them honking overhead as they practice for the long flight south.

I'm always amazed how these migrating birds fly the thousands of miles and get to the same place every time, never getting lost!
