Gloomy Times Square

It was so gloomy and rainy on Saturday in Times Square that it made the lights look all the more bright. This picture was taken in the middle of the afternoon. Luckily it was just one day of heavy rain and then Sunday was beautiful. Times Square got its name when the New York Times Building was built in this area around the turn of the 20th century. Times Square is also the start of the Lincoln Highway, which begins here and goes across the country.

Have a good week ahead!

The water droplets in the mist diffuse the light and...forget the explanations, it simply looks brilliant and you captured it.

I have a photo essay book on the Lincoln Highway somewhere and had forgotten that fact!

Ps. I did not realize that NYC is in a different time zone than NJ; it is still 11/09 here! :o)

You have a good week, too.

Amazing how a gloomy day can look like night time.

Quite a magnificent place in any weather.

Have a great week.

As the Irish say "There are 40 types of rain in Ireland". In Wales we have about 39 !!!. Nice shot and goes to show you can capture an image in all kinds of light. Interesting bit about the Lincoln highway.

Neat shot! Hope you didn't get soaked while taking it. It sure looks gloomy in the middle of the afternoon.

Times square is one place I would like to see when I get a chance to visit the city. I love seeing the fog up around the buildings.

Traffic and rain...remember me Rome, only the buildings are different.

Yeap, it was a dozy last weekend. But I got to sleep in really late so I'm happy.
