Water Lillies

I didn't realize that summer is the peak blooming time for water lillies. They have some gorgeous ones now at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. The blossoms apparently open in the morning and close in the afternoon and I think some of them even have a scent. They are such interesting plants.

Where's a frog when you need one ! I think water lillies can be very invasive if left.

A wonderful image, Lori, great composition. It brings to mind the facination of Monet!

Water Lillies, to me, are some of the prettiest of all flowers. Sad that most of us never get to see them. Have a great week.

Ooh ... nice shot! :-)

A friend gave me a waterlily recently ... waiting for the first flower to come up.
