Sculpture

This is a sculpture I spotted recently going into the subway at 72nd Street and Broadway. "Odalisca" is by the Spanish artist Manolo Valdes and is one of 16 sculptures of his on display along Broadway until January. You can read more about them here.

I'm sorry Lori, but that is one strange sculpture...... Great photo, but strange.... But then if all artists were alike, how boring!!!!

At first I thought it was an obese person laying their side ... After expanding the photo, I saw the etchings on the surface ... oops! :-D

Not partial to this one, but uunfamiliar with Valdes' work and found more on www.artknowledgenews.com
Monumental size and homage to past masters are some of his themes.
