Flea Market

Now that spring is here the flea markets are in full swing. This is a shot from the Hell's Kitchen Flea Market. Located on West 39th Street, this particular flea market is open every Saturday and Sunday and you can read more about it here. Last weekend it was strangely uncrowded. Hopefully they got more people later on!

Perhaps too many are reading histories of a century ago, when Hell's Kitchen was known as "the most dangerous area on the American Continent,"lol. Actually, with fleeting good spring weather and so much to do, I suppose they left the market for later in the day.

Hopefully you enjoyed your visit to the flea market.

The flea market is often busy in the morning. Very dedicated shoppers--including interior decorators, designers, and even prop masters for theatres--want to examine the antiques, collectibles, and other items right away. This is also the time when dealers buy and sell from each other. The market is then busy again from about 11 am - 2 pm.

Nice shot...wish I could visit a few of those booths. We went to a Craft Fair in Tahoe, and I bought a really nice sterling silver ring that looks like a grape vine.
