Gracie Mansion

This is Gracie Mansion the official residence of the Mayor of New York, although our current mayor chooses to live in his own townhouse. It is located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan within Carl Schurz Park, along the East River. We passed by it on a circle line boat tour I was on so I only got a passing glimpse as we went by. Maybe I'll go back in the spring time and have a look at it close up. You can read more about it at http://www.nyc.gov/.

My ideal house would have verandas and balconies. It looks a very interesting place. Is it open to the public?

It would be fun to see the inside of this one.

What a great place to sit and read on the verandas....

That's the mayor's residence?!? Looks like his cabinet could live there too. Cool shot through the trees.

I have never seen as nice overall photograph of it before from this perspective. Sadly, I have never been invited to a function there (LOL) but understand it is open to the public (tours by reservation). Aha! The Circle Line explains your photos from the water side!
