I don't know much about all of the routes they run, but I see a lot of New York Water Taxis out there these days. I can vouch for the fact that it's a fun way to get out to the Ikea in Brooklyn and they go many other places too. They are surprisingly nice inside. Water Taxi

I like the traditional checker taxicab stripe. A good reminder that I have wanted to pick up something at IKEA, and instead of driving to one of the NJ ones, I should hop a bus to NYC and use this to get to the Brooklyn one, and bring my camera!
