This is just a door in Brooklyn that caught my eye. I don't know anything about the artist or why it was there. It is just one of those unusual sights that you catch sometimes in New York! I'm about to leave for a trip, so I won't be posting next week. In the meantime, I wish you all a great weekend and I'll see you on January 7!

Bargemusic
I'm back to showing New York photos, at least for a few days! This is a photo of Bargemusic, a barge floating in the East River where classical music concerts are held year-round. It offers a beautiful view of lower Manhattan and is a great place to see a chamber music concert (unless it's a windy day and the barge is bouncing up and down!).

Bryant Park Skating Rink
In the wintertime, they convert Bryant Park into a beautiful skating rink. It is a lovely sight, especially at night. The skating is free too, if you have your own skates. There is a Christmas market around the park too during December. Bryant Park is beautiful at all times of the year. I wish you a happy Christmas Eve!

Dumbo
This is a photo of the Brooklyn Bridge I took when I was in a neighborhood in Brooklyn called Dumbo, an acronym which stands for Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass. Since it is so close to lower Manhattan, Dumbo has become a very expensive place to live. It is a nice neighborhood, with the best pizza place in New York. I'll have to show a picture there sometime!

Radio City
I'm showing a photo today of the inside of Radio City Music Hall taken during a performing of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. I saw it last weekend and it was quite a show. Radio City is an art deco building, built in the 1930s and it is gorgeous inside. Maybe tomorrow I will show a picture of the Rockettes! By the way, you were allowed to take photos during the show, as long as you didn't use your flash.

Manhattan Bridge
Here is another photo from my recent walk across the Brooklyn bridge. This is a shot of the Manhattan Bridge, which crosses the East River and in the background you can see the Empire State Building. I liked the warm light of the late afternoon. I hope you all have a great weekend and see you Monday!

Statue in Chinatown
This is a photograph I took in Chinatown looking south and the statue is of a man named Lin Za Xu. I don't know much about him other than he was an officer from the Fujian Province in China. The building in the background is 1 Centre Street, which houses a lot of government offices. It is quite beautiful at night when the top portion is illuminated.

Lincoln Center Christmas Tree
This is a photograph of the Christmas tree at Lincoln Center, the performing arts complex in New York which is home to the Metropolitan Opera and the New York Philharmonic. They always do a big and festive looking tree. I thought the one this year was particularly pretty. Have a nice weekend and see you Monday!

Artist at Work
In the New York City subway system there are many beautiful mosaics. I've always admired them, but today was the first time I've ever seen an artist creating one. This guy was in the subway station at 42nd Street Times Square and was working on a new mosaic. It was interesting to watch him work. He must have more patience than me!
