Zodiac Heads

There's a new public art work on display near the Plaza Hotel. Called Circle of Animals/Zodiac Heads it was created by the Chinese artist Ai Weiwei. Each statue represents one of the animals of the zodiac. You can read more about it in this article.

YOU HAVE SO MUCH INTERESTING ART IN NY. THESE ZODIAC HEADS ARE QUITE UNIQUE.

There is something about seeing a head separated from the rest of the body. Lots of historical imagery comes to mind.

Love how you brought out Mr. Rat front and center, lol, which brough to mind how different their zodiac figures are from ours.

Thanks for the link on the artist, too.

Cool angle! :-)

That's pretty interesting! Without reading the caption, I thought it was a hunting theme sculpture. :-P
