This is a (not so good) photo of a new art installation in Madison Square Park by the artist Jim Campbell. It's called Scattered Light and you can read more about it here. It's really quite beautiful, especially at dusk.

this is something I'd love to see in person!
PS
I also think it's a great photo. I love how you've captured the lights against the dark background with the blue sky above.
i prefer your photo compared to the one in the official link :)
Hi Lori! Long time no see...
Interesting instalation!!
Blogtrotter Two has moved to a new country and actually to the most populated city in Africa. Enjoy and have a great weekend!
Another reason to live in NYC. Always something beautiful ... or different ... to see or enjoy.
PS: I have Chistmas music for you!!
waouhh c'est original, une belle creation qui rend bien avec ta photo
How pretty is that...I could almost see them sparkling!!!!
(Missed this one last week!) I like your photo as well. From your viewpoint, the installation looked like a swarm of fireflies gathering in formation! Somthing wort seeing in person soon.
Ps. Not sure I like that new tower in its close juxtaposition to a city classic, though it is interesting in itself.
