Riverside Church Tower

A few days ago I posted a photo of the interior of Riverside Church in Morningside Heights. The exterior has been undergoing a renovation for some time now and they've finally taken down much of the scaffolding. I'm told you can take a tour up to the top. I'll put that on my list of things to do, eventually!

Beautiful church - inside and out...and looks great against the fall colors.

The church tower's design reflects the vertical theme of the alter shown before, all seems symbolic of reaching towards the sky. I just read it is the tallest in the US and 26th tallest in the world, so that "to do" seems like a good bet! The leafy colors captured in your image brings warmth to the cold stone of the tower, too.

Great photo! The statue, the autumn leaves and then the tower make a great combination. I like!
