Chrysler building

Nothing special to report about this photo, just another view of the Chrysler Building in midtown at 42nd and Lexington Avenue. According to Wikipedia it was the world's tallest building for 11 months, before it was usurped by the Empire State Building.

Interesting photo conposition, I like the juxtiposition of the "blocky" modern building with the "blocky" parking sign. I like the contrast between the spire of the Chrysler Building rising above the more recent "blocky" buildings. But for me, the two images in the same frame compete. Possibly that is why you see it as "nothing special" when it has all the indications of being a very good image. Perhaps if the parking sign were lower, not even with its sister shaped building to the left, it would draw the eye in, then up progressively to the "blocky" buildings, then to the spire. What do you think?

As I've said before this is one of my favourite New York buildings. I love this shot with the big red sign.

Hi all, Jay I think I agree with you. I'll have to experiment with cropping that one (or go back and take another photo!)

I have gone back to interesting or favorite sites (and sights!) over time, sometimes seeing things in a completely different way, too! You are stirring me to active photography again!
