This apple is part of a series of sculptures visible along Park Avenue by the French artists Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne. Here is some info about the exhibit from the Daily Plant: "This is the first-ever, large-scale outdoor exhibition in the U.S. of Claude & François-Xavier Lalanne’s sculptures. From September 13 – November 20, 2009 more than eight monumental works and a single work comprised of 12 individual sculptures will span multiple-sites on Park Avenue between 52nd and 57th streets."

I love this Lori, as it reminds me of a verse in the Bible that says we are the Apple of His Eye!!
You continue to amaze us with your wonderful photography.

Magnifique cette pomme d'or, mince je rate cette exposition. Merci de nous présenter cette œuvre.
I don't know the artists but i like the big apple very much ;)
No doubt about what this is! That is one good-looking apple! Next trip in, I will try to see these. I miss the old apple tree I grew up with here, especially at this time of year!
Very appropriate for the fall season...beautiful picture reminding us of falls bounty. Thanks.
More about this big apple...that bronze color reminds me of those otherwise perfect apples that have fallen and look to be in perfect shape but have spoiled inside.
Pick one up to throw in the box for cider and find it has turned to mush! When I see it on Park Avenue, I will have to give it a poke to make sure it is still good!
Now that's a big apple! Neat sculpture!
Wow, that was interesting to read.Very cool sculpture!
