Our local French Institute is sponsoring a festival called Crossing the Line , which kicked off on Saturday with a dance party in Central Park. Here is a description of the event from their website http://www.fiaf.org/: "Le Bal NYC opens with a dance party/picnic in Central Park’s East Meadow. Choreographers from France, including Germaine Acogny, Odile Duboc, Latifa Laâbissi, and Olivier Dubois present a fresh new take on the bal populaire, creating short dances to be taught section by section to the public." These are the dancers demonstrating a work by the choreographer Latifa Laâbissi that the audience later learned. It was a fun event!Tuesday, September 15, 2009
