Booksellers

Whenever I see these book stalls along Fifth Avenue they remind me of the bouquinistes in Paris. (Maybe they are modelled after them?) I wish we had more here because it's always fun to browse. I think they are only there in the warmer months. Enjoy your weekend and see you Monday!

Yes it could be Paris. But its the red crates that the books are kept in, bakers trays, they are everywhere.
Enjoy your w/e. You never said if you ran the marathon.

Think I saw sidewalk sellers in Berkeley, CA once ... though it was quite a while back. Now that's a mobile bookstore!

Street vendors fascinate me. Maybe that is why I love going to the Market. Great shot.

I have never seen a "Book Stall" in California. Except in front of Barns and Noble or Borders.

I like the idea of sidewalk book stalls...

Have a reat weekend...

Quite a few bookstores in NYC use to have a shelf or two of books outside, in front of their stores, even in the winter, weather permitting. Now I think the Strand, who also runs these stalls in your photograph, is about the only one who does it in front of their main store on 13th St. Hope you have a great weekend, too!

I used to work a similar bookstall at the end of the seventies with my uncle. I was always staggered by its simplicity as a business and how lucrative it obviously was. Thirty years ago and he used to bank a couple of hundred pouns a day.

When I saw the photo, it reminded me of the river bank book sellers too.

Great job on the photo.
